A Little Bit About Me and My Photography Journey

Crystal Li is a photographer and writer based in New York, working across sports, entertainment, and culture. Crystal was born in Los Angeles and spent half of her life in Beijing and half in New York, where she attended NYU Stern to study Business Marketing. Her work focuses on capturing the emotion and energy of live events — from intimate music shows to arena tours, to tennis tournaments and Formula 1 races.

Blending an editorial eye with creative precision, Crystal has produced both photographic and written coverage of major cultural moments, with a particular passion for storytelling at the intersection of music and sport. She is the founder of The Inchident Report, an independent publication exploring strategy, sports psychology, and culture in Formula 1 and Tennis, and of Ampersnd Media, a music publication that captures moments of connection at live music events.

Crystal’s work has been recognized for capturing moments in a creative way, with a balance of artistry and efficiency. When shooting on assignments, she thrives in high-pressure environments and delivers imagery that connects people to the moment.
